Demo-Lition 2010, Student protests turned violent over tuition fees at Conservative Headquarters

Angry Student protesters smashed the windows and stormed the Conservative Headquarters in Millbank, Westminster today.
This comes as a result of the threat to cut University funding and in some cases triple tuition fees in England.

Around 50 thousand people started the student fees protest march through Westminster earlier today.

There were many banners accusing Mr Clegg and the Liberal Democrats of going back on their word to vote against university fee increases.

So far 30 people have been arrested; there have been fires in the street and people on rooftops letting off fire extinguishers. There is footage of a near miss when a fire extinguisher was thrown from the roof; landing very close to police officers.

It’s thought around 14 people have minor injuries including several police officers. There have been no serious injuries.

The student leaders are said to be mortified with the outcome of the planned peaceful march.

There are also accusations that the police did not have enough officers at the scene when the march turned into violence.

There are also claims that the main violence and damage has been caused by people who go to protests with the intention of causing trouble.
