The iPhone 5 is here, in the shops from Friday 21st September, mobile phone operators have announced their offers, the question is who has the best deals? We have looked at the many offers and plans available and come up with some options, including:

The shortest contracts
Free handsets
Unlocked

The lowest monthly charges

We have looked at the main operators deals, most of the offers are based on a 24-month contract.

O2 – Currently O2 has the best offer for the 16GB iPhone5, this offer covers unlimited calls and texts, it also includes 1GB of internet data transfer. The up-front charge for this deal is £249.99. This makes the overall price for the phone and the two year contract at £873.99.

If you want a bit more storage, you can go for the 32GB iPhone 5, at a cost of £299.99 or the top storage option, which is 64GB, this will cost £399.99.
Over the same two year contract, this would work out to £923.99 for the 32GB version and £1,023.99 for the 64GB.

Three – They have The Unlimited Internet 500 plan, again this is a 24 month contract, which provides (you guessed it) all-you-can-eat data, 500 any network minutes and 5,000 texts. This deal is available for all three models; the 16GB will cost £79 upfront, with a monthly cost of £34.
The 32GB will cost £89 upfront with a monthly charge of £37. The 64GB iphone 5 will be £109 upfront, with a monthly cost of £40.

Three also have the One Plan, again a 24 month contract with all-you-can-eat data, 2,000 any network minutes, 5,000 texts and 5,000 three-to-three minutes. This deal costs £79 upfront and £36 per month for the 16GB model. The 32GB model costs £89 upfront and £39 per month. The 64GB model costs £109 upfront and £42 per month.

Three have another popular plan; Unlimited Internet 300, this one includes all-you-can-eat data, 300 any network minutes and 5,000 texts. You can have the 16GB for £129 upfront and £32 per month. The 32GB iphone 5 is £139 upfront and £35 per month. The 64GB version is £159 upfront and £38 per month.

T-Mobile – They offer another 24 month plan, it’s named the Full Monty Plan, the cheapest version of this plan offers 2,000 minutes with unlimited T-Mobile calls, with unlimited internet and texts, this offer costs £36 per month with a upfront cost of £109 for the 16GB, £291 for the 32GB and £269 for the 64GB model.

If you want to go for unlimited minutes with T-Mobile, you have three monthly price options.
You have the choice of paying £41 per month, with the upfront cost at £49 for the 16GB, £149 for the 32GB and £219 for the 64GB.
The second choice is £46 per month, with the upfront cost at £29 for the 16GB, £99 for the 32GB and £189 for the 64GB.
The third option is £61 per month, with an upfront cost of £19 for the 16GB, £29 for the 32GB and £139 for the 64GB model.

The shortest contracts

The only option for a shorter contract at the moment is with Vodafone. They are offering 12-month contracts. These start at £36 per month, with an upfront cost of £349 for the 16GB, £419 for the 32GB and £499 for the 64GB.

Free handsets

If you want an iPhone 5 contract with no upfront cost, you’ll need to go with Orange, O2 or Vodafone.

Orange – Two of the Orange plans offer a 16GB iPhone 5 for free on a 24-month plan. The cheapest of these is £46 per month, you get unlimited calls and texts, with 3GB of internet access. That works out to a total of £1,104 for the two years.

O2 – They have a similar offer to Orange where you receive a free 16GB iPhone 5 for £46 per month over two years, however you only get 1GB of internet data with this plan.

Vodafone – They are offering a £47 per month plan, over two years, this comes with unlimited calls and texts and 2GB of internet data.

Unlocked Handset

You can always just buy an unlocked iPhone 5 from the Apple site or in their stores, this can then be used on any network. The prices are £529 for the 16GB version, £599 for the 32GB and £699 for the 64GB model.
