Honda have made great improvements in there robot technology they used the same methods to build a robotic arm that could be used in the Fukushima Plant disaster to close off valves.

In Japan there are about 20 of these robots working in hospitals and retirement homes and with future improvements Honda hope they will be widespread in 5 years and be able to help people in their daily lives.

Asimo is only about 4ft the size of a 12 year old just the right height to be able to turn lights on and off work and table height and open and shut doors. The new version of Asimo can work independently of a technician and at twice the speed of the previous models.
