On the 15 May 2011 Sharp in collaboration with NHK have produced a TV with 16 times the resolution of the current 1080p HD screens, at 7680×4320 this 85 inch LCD display looks amazing.
In the past the only way to show ultra-high definition video was with the use of a projector.
This TV is using Sharps new UV2a technology which allows for great precision when controlling the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules in the LCD structure. Sharp have created a flawless 33MP display by using 10 bit colour depth for each channel and a refresh rate of 60Hz.
NHK are working on trial broadcasts of this next generation format; with live broadcasts expected for the year 2020.
